This year's August 1st celebration in Sils will take place in a new setting. The event will transform Via da Marias into a vibrant promenade. Along the street, visitors can expect a diverse program in a slightly different, more open format. Look forward to a lively and convivial August 1st with music, encounters, and special moments, in a new environment and with fresh ideas. Musical performances, including those by the Engadine cover band Dog on the Feet and the Societed da musica Silvaplauna, children's entertainment, and culinary offerings will create a lively atmosphere. A particular highlight will be the keynote address by Linard Bardill and historian Karsten Plöger on the topic of "Life in the Mountains – Then and Now." Together, they will draw a connection between the lived solidarity and responsibility of previous generations and the challenges and opportunities of our time. The August 1st celebration in Sils invites you not only to celebrate together, but also to embark on a delightful journey through Swiss and Grisons cuisine. Look forward to delicacies from the grill, spicy raclette, traditional Grisons specialties, and savory and sweet desserts. Together with our culinary partners, we are creating a gastronomic experience that reflects the character of our region and invites you to linger comfortably at the long festive table in the village center.
