Stubete am See: Djîga

A wild dance between French-speaking Switzerland and the Basque Country
In the Vaud dialect, the name has a double meaning that couldn't be more fitting: Djîga means dance and Djiga means violin! Nathalie Recking and Daniel Velasco move within the tension between dance and violin, but also between tradition and contemporary music, between French-speaking Switzerland and the Basque Country, between rooted chants and wild improvisations, between powerful polyphony and enchanting arrangements, all seasoned with the musical presence and groove essential to dance. Their inexhaustible curiosity and experimental spirit make Djîga a creative duo that knows how to lead its audience off the beaten track!
Cast: Nathalie Recking: Violin, vocals, feet; Dani Velasco: Violin, vocals.
