Sils fairytail trail -
Senda da Gianna

You've never experienced the forest like you do on the Sils fairytale trail: full of secrets and lots of exciting encounters. Made for children from the age of about five and for all those who like to marvel and be astonished, the Silser Märchenweg is a special family attraction.

On the “Senda da Gianna” you’ll be following brave little goatherd Gianna and her story step by step. She has to find the young holiday guest Karl, who has lost his way in the forest of God Laret. Will she find him?

You start the Sils fairytale trail at the Alpenrose heading towards the barichröls boathouse. Gianna’s story, which is based on the children's book by Claudia Garigiet, is told on wooden panels.

Information to the fairytale trail

  • Start
At the Alpenrose in the direction of the boathouse "barchiröls". Gianna's story is told on wooden panels (german, romanish & english).
  • Length
The 2.5 km long hiking trail (ascent/descent 115 metres) includes ten stations. At station 8 (in the forest of God Laret) a cosy barbecue area with provided wood invites you to have a picnic. Just the right place to linger and enjoy.
  • Prams / Pushchairs
The path has short, steep ascents which require some effort with the pram as well as a short carrying passage (approx. 6 steps) at the very end. It is only recommended for those willing to push with a modern, all-terrain pram or, even better, with a baby carrier.
  • Opening Period
The Sils Fairytale Trail "Senda da Gianna" is open from June to October. In winter, the wooden sculptures rest under the snow.
  • History
The Sils fairytale trail is based on Claudia Carigiet's abridged version of her story "Gian/Gianna". The children's book with pictures by Lea Meyer is published by Somedia Buchverlag ISBN: 978-3-905688-41-2.
  • Surprise
At the end of the entertaining circular walk, a surprise awaits the children, which can be picked up at the Sils Tourist Information
