Getting to Sils by train and bus
From the north
There are two options to get to St. Moritz, the nearest railway station to Sils: from Chur along the Albula line or from Landquart via Klosters, the Vereina Tunnel and the Lower Engadin. The Albula and Bernina line of the Rhaetian Railway was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. Its helical tunnels and dizzying viaducts make it one of the most scenic and technically interesting railway lines in Europe. Alternatively, the journey via the Vereina Tunnel is also a beautiful and scenic route that takes about the same amount of time. Thanks to new train connections, you can reach the Upper Engadin from Zurich main station in as little as 3 hours. From St. Moritz, the Engadin Bus will take you to Sils.
From the south
Sils and the Upper Engadin can also be easily reached from Milan. The train route first runs along the beautiful Lake Como to Chiavenna. From there, the postbus travels through the Bergell valley and over the Maloja pass to Sils. Between Friday and Sunday, there is also a postbus connection from Lugano to the Engadin travelling via Chiavenna. A reservation is required for this connection. Another UNESCO World Heritage route of the Rhaetian Railway runs from Tirano over the Bernina Pass to St. Moritz.
Getting to Sils by car
You can reach Sils via Chur on well-developed roads over the Julier or Albula passes (the Albula Pass is only open in summer). Via Davos you can reach the Engadin via the Flüela Pass in summer and through the Vereina Tunnel in winter. From Germany/Austria you can also reach it via Landeck and from Italy via the Maloja, Bernina or Ofen Pass. Parking is available in the Segl/Val Fex car park. Please note: In heavy snow, crossing the passes is only permitted with chains or 4x4 vehicles.
Arrival by car transport Vereina
The Rhaetian Railway transports you and your car through the Vereina Tunnel every day: in just 18 minutes from Klosters/Selfranga to Sagliains in the Lower Engadin. You can stay comfortably seated in your car.

Arriving in Sils by plane
From Engadin Airport (Samedan) charter flights can be booked to the international airports of Zurich, Geneva, Basel, Milan and Munich. Air taxi connections are also maintained to many other national and international destinations. The nearest international airports are in Zurich, Milan and Innsbruck.

Public transport & local bus
The Rhaetian Railway crosses the entire Engadin from St. Moritz to Scuol and also travels to Val Poschiavo and Tirano in Italy via the UNESCO route over the Bernina Pass. The Albula UNESCO route takes you to Chur, via the Vereina Tunnel and Prättigau to Landquart. The Engadin Bus takes you regularly to all the neighbouring villages of Sils and to the nearest railway station in St. Moritz. The buses run throughout the Upper Engadine, from Maloja to Cinuos-chel-Brail and between St. Moritz and Bernina Lagalb. The PostBus also runs through Sils and takes you quickly and easily to neighbouring Bergell and Chiavenna in Italy. The Palm Express even runs directly to Lugano in Ticino. In winter, there is also a free local bus in Sils that takes you to the Furtschellas valley station and back free of charge.
