Waterfall in Surlej
Especially in spring, the Ova dal Sagl waterfall impresses with its volume of water, making it clearly visible from the other side of the valley. A hiking trail leads alongside the waterfall to the "Ova dal Sagl" viewpoint. At the foot of the falls, cairns create a special atmosphere.

History
Surlej was almost completely destroyed by flooding of the "Ova da Surlej" stream in 1793 and 1868. As a result, a dam was built in 1873, and the stream was diverted through an 80-meter-long rock tunnel with a diameter of 3 meters to Lake Silvaplana. This created the waterfall, visible from afar, and Surlej has been spared from flooding ever since.
