«Bever – The gateway to the Engadine floodplains»

The people who made this million-pound project, ‘Inn River Revitalisation at Bever,’ possible are now sharing their experiences with visitors. They tell stories about deer and stoats, talk about little ringed plovers and kingfishers, show off gentians and laurel willows, and reminisce about the highly complex construction period.

It is fascinating to see how quickly nature is returning to the newly created floodplain! A walk along the river is well worth it, even for families with children.

Biodiversity hotspot

Whether it's the ‘Animal of the Year’, rare birds, an Eldorado for botanists or Fischer's Fritz – you'll find it all here on the Inn. Almost half of all Swiss animals and plants can be found in the floodplain. No other place is so rich in nature. Come on in. Sit down by the riverbank. Linger in the shade of an old larch tree. Take photos of the flowers or the play of light and shadow in the river. There is so much to discover!
