Ice rink – hockey and figure skating

Are you looking for a quiet, spacious ice rink in the Engadin? In the heart of Sils Maria, there is a 45 x 50 m ice skating rink and a 45 x 25 m rink purely for hockey, providing perfect natural ice for sports and leisure.

Opening hours
Open depending on weather conditions: from start/mid December to mid/end March. Daily from 9.00am until dusk.
Floodlit: The lighting is switched off daily at 6:00 p.m., or until 8:00 p.m. if notice is given up to 24 hours in advance. For official events, the lighting period can be extended. Registration up to 24 hours in advance at Daniel's Plazzet Restaurant: T +41 81 826 61 11.

Large winter play area

In the heart of the traffic-free village, the ice rink and sports centre provides a winter «Kinderland» play area, where youngsters can have fun. Tobogganing, skiing, building snow castles – anything is possible here. The «Snowlino-Kindergarten», which is run by the Swiss Ski School in Sils, offers beginner ski courses for children. (Duration 1.5 hours, from 3 to 4 years, Monday to Friday and in high season daily from 10.30am to 12.00 noon).

• Group tuition (from three persons) 45 minutes CHF 20.00 flat rate + CHF 30.00 per person
• From December to February, curling taster courses take place free of charge. Tuesdays from 8.00pm to 10.00pm.

Skischool for the little ones

In the middle of Sils Maria, the ice rink and its surroundings offer a children's winter playground for fun and games. Sledging, learning to ski, building snow castles - everything is possible. The Snowlino nursery, supervised by the Swiss Ski School in Sils, offers beginners' courses in skiing for children (time required 1.5 hours, age 3-4 years, Mon - Fri - in high season also at weekends 10.30 - 12.00). Cross-country skiing

You can also access one of the cross-country ski trails next to the Muot Marias ice rink and sports centre. There are toilets and cloakrooms in the Plazzet restaurant. The Swiss cross-country ski school Corvatsch offers beginner and follow-up courses teaching skating and classical techniques. Find out more
