SILS LIVE — 17:11
Those seeking peace and quiet surrounded by nature in the Engadin will love the wonderful Sils ski area in winter. The magic word is Furtschellas, with its perfectly-groomed slopes and direct access to the Corvatsch ski area.
The Furtschellas ski area is part of the vast winter sports area of Corvatsch, which includes a total of 120 km of slopes at up to 3,303 metres above sea level. It stretches from Sils to Silvaplana as far as St. Moritz. Winter sports enthusiasts flock to the Corvatsch every year to enjoy the breathtaking panorama. The resort's altitude and north-facing position provide ideal snow conditions from mid-November through to early May.
You access the winter paradise by cable car from the Furtschellas valley station (1,757 metres above sea level). You reach the Furtschellas middle station (2,212 metres above sea level) in a matter of minutes, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Engadin lakes. The chair lift takes you from the middle station to the summit station (2,800 metres above sea level).

This descent is long, steep and spectacular. The nine-kilometre Hahnensee run starts with steep slopes and ends in a fairy-tale forest. You can also enjoy the dream slope and the views of the Engadin lakes several times a day because the Hahnensee Express will be waiting for you in St. Moritz Bad at the end of the run.
This is the best way of exploring the Engadin. The safari gets underway in Sils and heads via Furtschellas towards the Corvatsch and up to lofty heights of 3,303 metres above sea level. The tour continues via the legendary Hahnensee piste back down to St. Moritz Bad. On the other side of the valley, it then leads into the Corviglia area. The Piz Nair and Trais Fluors stations await you there, as well as the long descent into Celerina. By the end of the safari, you will have completed around 88 kilometres and worked up quite an appetite. Luckily, there are more than 16 restaurants to choose from. Find out more about the Snow Safari
Sils is part of the Corvatsch freeride Eldorado: The Corvatsch has everything that gets freeriders' pulses racing. Steep-sided gulleys for freaks, wide slopes of deep snow for the more laid-back, or cliff jumps for daredevils. Off-piste skiers or snowboarders are responsible for their own safety. They must strap an avalanche beacon to their chest and pack a shovel and probe in their rucksack. It is also important to respect the wildlife quiet zones.
The Corvatsch Snow Park is one of the largest in the Alps and is located directly next to the Murtél middle station. It offers various kicker and rail lines of varying difficulty. Over the course of the winter, a flow line and halfpipe will be added to it. Next to the Hossa Bar, there is a bag jump for soft landings. The Corvatsch Park is the venue for national and international competitions, such as the Freeski World Cup.
Corvatsch has a new attraction. The Fun Ride provides an extra helping of action for everybody who needs a variety to perfectly groomed slopes or wants to get in touch with the world of freestyle. The name says it all! The Fun Ride is shod with waves, banks, small kickers and tables. It is located on the right-hand side of the Curtinella slope.
